TARAKAN – Setelah tertunda selama 2 tahun kini budaya masyarakat IRAW bakal kembali digelar tahun ini. Diketahui, Festival Iraw Tengkayu merupakan upacara tradisional dan perlombaan yang diadakan oleh masyarakat Suku Tidung di Kota Tarakan, Provinsi Kalimantan Utara. Festival ini berupa upacara ritual menghanyutkan sesaji ke laut dan berbagai macam perlombaan.
Saat dikonfirmasi, tokoh budaya Tarakan, Datu Norbeck menerangkan, saat ini pandemi covid-19 berangsur menghilang sehingga kini festival ini akan segera diselenggarakan. Ia menyebut tahun ini pelaksanaan Iraw akan kembali digelar pada 8 Oktober 2022.
“Insyaallah akan kita selenggarakan tahun ini, perayaannya akan melibatkan 150 penari. Jumlah ini, saat ini mengalami penurunan dari yang sebelumnya 200 penari,”ujarnya, (1/8)
Dijelaskannya saat ini sudah memasuki hari keempat latihan, dan tahun ini akan diramaikan 150 penari dan puncak acaranya 8 Oktober dan pembuatan perahu sepanjang bulan September mendatang.
Dirinya menjelaskan, pelaksanaan Iraw nantinya akan digelar di Pantai Amal Lama seperti tahun sebelumnya. Ia pun menyebut terdapat perbedaan pada pelaksanaan Iraw tahun ini dengan sebelumnya. Jika tahun sebelumnya digelar pada tahun ganjil, namun tahun ini digelar pada tahun genap.
“Karena mulainya waktu itu tahun ganjil jadi selanjutnya di tahun ganjiIl. Untuk konsepnya akan mendatangkan pelatih dari Yogyakarta. Pemilihan pelatih tari harus berpengalaman dan mengenal seluk beluk seni tari asal Kalimantan. Sementara untuk materi tari, udah dipersiapkan dari kami,”pungkasnya.
