TARAKAN – Setelah masuknya berbagai investor brand terkenal ke Kota Tarakan, seperti Indomaret, Pizza Hut, Bioskop.XXI dan ACE kini giliran McDonald’s akhirnya resmi membuka cabangnya di Kota Tarakan. Hal ini setelah McDonalds resmi memulai pembangunan gedung pada Jumat (19/5/2023).
Saat dikonfirmasi, Wali Kota Tarakan, dr. H. Khairul, M.Kes menerangkan, masuknya McDonalds merupakan momentum lanjutan setelah masuknya berbagai investor di Kota Tarakan. Adapun lokasi peletakan batu pertama berada dan dibangun di Jalan Yos Sudarso.

“Semoga dapat diselesaikan tepat waktu dan peresmian akan dibuka pada awal 2024 mendatang setelah pembangunan gedung selesai. Jadi gerai waralaba ini merupakan gerai McDonald’s pertama di Tarakan dan yang ke-10 di Kalimantan,”ucapnya.
“Dengan dibukanya restoran cepat saji ini nantinya, akan tersedia lapangan kerja baru atau menyerap tenaga kerja lokal dan mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi,”katanya.
Dengan terus masuknya berbagai investor, Khairul menegaskan jika Pemerintah Kota Tarakan terus berkomitmen untuk mendorong investasi masuk ke Tarakan, sehingga para investor tidak perlu ragu untuk menanamkan di modalnya di Tarakan.
“kedepannya, dengan investasi di Kaltara yang terus tumbuh, jumlah penduduk akan semakin banyak sehingga sektor jasa juga akan tumbuh,” lanjutnya. Ia menambahkan, dari sisi perizinan, siapapun yang ingin masuk berinvestasi ke Kota Tarakan pihaknya sangat terbuka.
“Pastinya perizinan kita mudahkan. Di Tarakan iklim usahanya sehat, ikuti prosedurnya dengan baik,” terang Wali Kota
Ia meyakini bahwa waralaba seperti McDonald’s sebagaimana waralaba lain yang sudah ada di Tarakan ini taat pajak. Untuk diketahui lanjut Khairul, McDonald’s adalah jaringan restoran makanan cepat saji terbesar di dunia, dengan lebih dari 38.000 lokasi di lebih dari 100 negara.
Perusahaan ini telah beroperasi di Indonesia sejak tahun 1991, dan saat ini menargetkan untuk membuka hingga 500 cabang di Indonesia.
“Pembukaan restoran McDonald’s pertama di Tarakan adalah tanda pertumbuhan ekonomi kota ini dan daya tariknya yang semakin meningkat bagi investor,”pungkasnya.
