TANJUNG SELOR – Setelah mengukuhkan Pasukan Pengibar Bendera Pusaka (Paskibraka) Gubernur Kalimantan Utara (Kaltara), Drs. H. Zainal A. Paliwang, S.H., M.Hum., langsung menuju Desa Tanjung Agung, Tanjung Palas Timur, dalam rangka menghadiri penutupan Turnamen Cup, Senin (15/8) malam, setibanya di sana gubernur disuguhi atraksi bela diri pencak silat dan tarian daerah.
“Saya sangat bangga bisa hadir di tengah masyarakat kecamatan Tanjung Palas Timur, khususnya di Desa Tanjung Agung,” ungkapnya.
Gubernur mengungkapkan secara langsung rasa bangganya terhadap masyarakat yang menyuguhkan atraksi kebudayaan dalam menyambut kedatangannya.
“Karena siapa lagi kalau bukan kita yang melestarikan budaya itu. Saya tahun 1977 saat masih SMP telah menginjakan kaki di Jakarta untuk mengikuti pekan nasional tari tradisional,” tambahnya.
Begitupun dengan alat musik tabuh atau perkusi, gubernur mengungkapkan bahwa dirinya mampu mengiringi dengan hanya mendengar bunyinya beberapa saat. Orang nomor satu di Kaltara ini juga mengajak pentingnya kerjasama dan gotong royong masyarkat.
“Dari laporan panitia sudah terlaksana beberapa perlombaan dan itulah faedah dari kebersamaan dan gotong royong. Kepada yang juara untuk terus bisa mempertahankannya, karena mempertahankan itu lebih berat daripada merebut,” kata Gubernur.
Melihat antusiasme yang luar biasa oleh masyarakat, Gubernur akan menyumbangkan peralatan penunjang olahraga untuk masyarakat.
“InsyaAllah nanti saya akan bantu sumbang peralatan olahraga. Saya kirim langsung ke Tanjung Agung,” ungkapnya.
Gubernur mengapresiasi kecintaan masyarakat terhadap olahraga dan berkomitmen akan terus membantu aktivitas yang menunjang kebugaran jasmani dan rohani masyarakat.
“Saya sangat bangga bahwa masyarakat di Tanjung Palas Timur ini banyak yang senang berolahraga, jadi saya dukung karena dengan badan dan jiwa yang sehat akan melahirkan generasi yang hebat,” tuntasnya.
