TANJUNG SELOR – Pemerintah Provinsi Kalimantan Utara (Pemprov Kaltara) menggaet Komando Resort (Korem) 092/Maharajalila dalam upaya normalisasi Sungai Selor.
Hal ini ditandai dengan penandatanganan MoU tentang Pelaksanaan Normalisasi Sungai Selor/Buaya Kabupaten Bulungan oleh Gubernur Drs. H. Zainal Arifin Paliwang, S.H., M.Hum dan Komandan Resor Militer (Danrem) 092/Mrl Brigjen TNI Ari Estefanus,S.Sos.,M.Sc, Kamis (13/7).
Gubernur menyambut baik upaya ini. Pasalnya, akan meningkatkan prasarana pengendalian banjir pada kawasan perkotaan, meminimalkan dampak banjir, hingga peluang pengembangan UMKM di kawasan tersebut.
“Jadi nanti akan dilakukan Operasi Bakti oleh Korem 092/Mrl berserta jajarannya dan nanti dibantu oleh Dinas PUPR Provinsi dan Kabupaten. Untuk sebagai konsultan untuk bagaimana pelaksanaannya dan mudah-mudahan bisa selesai sesuai target kita tahun ini,” katanya.
Melihat situasi perkembangan Sungai Selor saat ini yang hampir mengalami pendangkalan di beberapa titik dan berpotensi menjadi daratan dikuatirkan akan adanya bangunan baru di lokasi tersebut.
“Kalau kita tidak segera lakukan, dampak negatifnya juga akan semakin banyak. Artinya hal-hal yang ada di sungai ini menimbulkan banyak dampak kedepan manakala kita segera melakukan normalisasi,” tutupnya.
Selanjutnya, Danrem Ari menjelaskan salah satu tugas TNI adalah membantu pemerintah yang ada di daerah diwujudkan dalam Operasi Bakti salah satunya adalah kegiuatan Karya Bakti.
Kegiatan Karya Bakti nantinya akan melaksanakan normalisasi Sungai Selor. “Kami sudah melihat dan meninjau Sungai Kayan. Memang sidah sempit dan menutupi aliran sungai yang di mana jika dibiarkan akan menyebabkan banjir,” terangnya.
“Kegiatan ini sudah kita koordinasikan secara teknis dengan PUPR Kaltara. Dalam pelaksanaannya akan melibatkan prajurut-prajurit yang ada di Korem dan Kodim. Kemudian kami akan bekerjasama dengan dinas/OPD terkait yang ada di Kaltara ini. Karena itu kami mohon dukungan bantuannya dari segi teknis sehingga pelaksanaannya bisa berjalan dengan lancar dan aman. Kemudian bisa berdampak bagi masyarakat yang ada disekitar aliran sungai tersebut,” tuntasnya.
