TARAKAN – Mencuci tangan tahun ini telah menjadi pusat perhatian sebagai salah satu cara paling efisien untuk melindungi dari pandemi virus corona (COVID-19) yang sedang berlangsung, kebersihan tangan sama pentingnya dalam mencegah penyakit dan menjaga kesehatan.
Mengenai hal tersebut, Sulidah S.Kep NS M.Kep Akademisi Kesehatan sekaligus Dekan Fakultas Ilmu Kesehatan Universitas Borneo Tarakan (UBT) mengatakan, pada saat era pandemi Covid-19 mencuci tangan sudah menjadi protokol kesehatan yang disyaratkan serta menjadi kebutuhan masyarakat dalam mencegah penyakit.
“Pertama cuci tangan itu sudah menjadi kebutuhan ya, sejak adanya era covid ini tentu saja cuci tangan menjadi kebutuhan dan tradisi, efeknya baik untuk kita. Karena sesungguhnya cuci tangan ini adalah pangkal dari semua pencegahan penyakit,” terang Sulidah, Rabu (20/10)
Sementara itu, diakuinya, kebiasaan mencuci tangan sudah menjadi budaya di tengah masyarakat pada saat ini. Kendati begitu, mencuci tangan sudah menjadi hal lumrah dan tentu saja jika mencuci tangan dilakukan secara rutin dan teratur akan berdampak baik bagi masyarakat.
“Kalau cuci tangan menjadi kebiasaan ini menjadi budaya yang dilakukan secara rutin dan teratur tentu saja ini akan berdampak positif. Sekarang ini dengan adanya Covid-19, masyarakat sudah kebiasan mencuci tangan, walaupun cuci tangan itu digantikan handsinitezer dan semacamnya, maka itu sudah terbukti dampak positif,” tuturnya.
Sulidah juga mengingatkan pentingnya mencuci tangan menggunakan air mengalir dengan menggunakan sabun. Perilaku sederhana tersebut jika dilakukan sesuai standar tentunya memiliki dampak yang luar biasa dalam pencegahan penyakit menular.
“Sesungguhnya ada standarnya mencuci tangan itu menggunakan air mengalir dengan sabun, mestinya juga tidak boleh dominan air, intinya susuai dengan standar. Maksud air lebih dominan dari pada sabun itu supaya efesiensi sabun supaya lebih hemat, tetapi kalau tidak sesuai standar kan tidak bermanfaat. Sama halnya dengan handsintezer harus dengan standar,” pungkasnya. (*)
