Kerukunan Keluarga Besar Makassar (KKBM) bersama Ikatan Persaudaraan Pemuda Makassar (IPPM) Kaltara dan Tarakan akan berkolaborasi untuk turut meriahkan Iraw Tengkayu dan Festival Pekan Budaya Tarakan yang akan digelar di bulan Oktober 2022 mendatang.
Saat ditemui (Minggu, 11/09/2022), Sekretaris Panitia Festival Budaya dan Pawai Forum Keluarga Besar Makassar Kota Tarakan, Adyansa, SM menuturkan akan mengisi kegiatan tersebut dengan pegelaran seni dan kuliner.
“Kegiatan di antaranya adalah lomba hias roda empat, menyajikan kuliner khas serta seni budaya Tarakan dan Makassar, yang terpenting kearifan lokal tetap dijunjung. Dan Alhamdulillah para tokoh masyarakat Makassar yang ada di Tarakan juga sangat mensupport rencana kegiatan itu,” ucapnya.
Sementara itu, Muhammad Astra, SH., M.Kn yang didaulat sebagai Ketua Panitia pada Festival nanti akan menyajikan kuliner yang jarang dijumpai di Kota Tarakan
“KKBM dan IPPM Kaltara dan Tarakan akan turut serta berpartisipasi memeriahkan Iraw Tengkayu. Banyak kuliner akan kami sajikan yang jarang ada di Tarakan. Bahkan bahannya kami datangkan langsung dari Kota Makassar, dan kita tunggu saja hari H nya akan ada kejutan kuliner dari kami, KKBM dan IPPM Kaltara,” bebernya.
Untuk diketahui, Festival Iraw Tengkayu direncanakan akan kembali hadir pada bulan Oktober 2022 dan masuk dalam Calender of Event Kalimantan Utara dan juga Kementerian Pariwisata.
Pesta adat Iraw Tengkayu merupakan upacara tradisional masyarakat Tidung di Tarakan, Kalimantan Utara dengan menghanyutkan sesaji ke laut dan diisi dengan berbagai macam perlombaan. Kegiatan ini biasa digelar bertepatan dengan hari ulang tahun Kota Tarakan pada bulan Desember.
Istilah Iraw Tengkayu sendiri memiliki dua arti yaitu Iraw sebagai perayaan, sementara Tengkayu ialah pulau kecil di tengah laut yakni pulau Tarakan. Upacara yang dilakukan masyarakat adat Tidung sudah berlangsung turun temurun. Nantinya, inti kegiatan akan diisi ritual Parade Padaw Tuju Dulung (perahu tujuh haluan) dengan melepaskan perahu berisi makanan atau pakan ke laut.
Padaw Tuju Dulung juga memiliki 5 tiang yang melambangkan shalat lima waktu untuk umat Islam dalam kesehariannya. Tiang inilah yang nantinya diperuntukkan sebagai lokasi mengikat kain sebagai atap atau yang dikenal masyarakat sekitar sebagai pari-pari dan tempat mengikat kain yang dihubungkan ke haluan perahu untuk sisi kanan dan kiri. Di bagian tengah perahu terdapat rumah bertingkat tiga yang disebut meligay. Di bawah meligay ini lah sesaji berisi makanan yang disimpan.
