Kongres merupakan ajang pemilihan pemimpin organisasi bagi Liga Mahasiswa Nasional Demokrasi (LMND) yang dilaksanakan setiap dua tahun sekali. Bagi LMND Kalimantan Timur pemilihan ini tentu bukan hanya sebagai ajang pergantian ketua semata, namun juga sebagai media perbaikan bagi organisasi. Tentu keinginan ini dimiliki oleh setiap kader LMND yang dimanifestasikan pada gagasan yang dibawa masing-masing perwakilan wilayah dalam kongres.
Namun disayangkan pada kongres LMND ke IX ini, mosi tidak percaya pada pengurus Eksekutif Nasional karena bagi pengurus wilayah Kalimantan Timur putusan waktu pelaksanaan kegiatan kongres dirasa sangat terburu-buru. Hal ini mempengaruhi bagi daerah untuk mempersiapkan pikiran dan akomodasi untuk kongres kali ini. Ditambah lagi Kalimantan bersepakat untuk mendorong perwakilan dalam pertarungan pada kongres ke IX di makassar, tentu ini sangat merugikan bagi kami karena waktu persiapan sangatlah kecil. Padahal di tengah kondisi LMND sedang berduka akibat kehilagan sosok yang sangat penting di agenda kongres kali ini Yaitu Ketua Badan Pekerja Kongres, di tambah lagi arahan terakhir turun pada tanggal 22 November kemarin dibarengi dengan proposal kegiatan,
Kurang dari 12 Hari seluruh anggota LMND se-Indonesia di desak untuk mengalang dana sangat tidak masuk akal. Maka dari itu Kami dari Eksekutif Wilayah LMND Kaltara dan Kaltim mendesak penundaan kongres pada tanggal 05-08 Desember 2022 nanti di makassar.
